Congratulations to all the winners.

The practice fairway continues to operate well under the new rules and our permanent rules sign will be up on the practice tee blocks next week.

Unfortunately over one third of the yellow practice balls have “disappeared” and the Club has had to order more.  If you have any of these balls in your bag for future practice, please return them to the shop or leave them out on the practice fairway.

Also a reminder that these range balls do not travel as far as a standard ball, approximately 10% to 15% less, so please do not use them out on the course.  We are fortunate to have these practice facilities and options, please do not abuse them.

President's Message
John 'Swampy' Marsh

* Thanks to KD and Swampy, great progress on the 9th Ladies tee and shelter (see photo) just levels, cladding and path to complete.

Sand and sewing on the tee almost complete.  Drains and electrics for sprinklers done.

Thanks to Peter and Elaine Gavin for their generous contribution to the ladies shelter.

* Congratulations to our Junior Players, U16 Gross Winner Anya Apanui and also to Fynn Campbell U13 Stableford winners, at the 2024 Junior Kaimai Classic held at the Omanu and Mount Golf Clubs.

* Futures Tournament

Great to see our young talent on display Monday and Tuesday.  After seeing some of the players competing I can confidently say the future of Bay Golf is safe.  Thank you to all our members for your patience.

* Once again thank you to all our club sponsors, these can be viewed on our website.

* Also a huge congratulations to our BOP girls development quadrangular.  Finishing in a tie for second after losing a three way play off to Auckland (eventual winners) and Harbour Golf a very creditable performance with our own Anya Apanui a member of the squad.  Well done.

* You will have noticed some seats have gone missing.  Rob Mitford-Burgess and Swampy have been renewing these for your comfort.  Thanks Rob.

* Big shout out to the Friday Haggle who have donated $8,000 towards the new fridge, the ice machine and the new practice mats.  Many thanks to you all for your support!

Happy golfing!

Speedgolf
James Goatley

My name is James Goatley and I am the crazy person you may have seen running around the golf course on Sunday mornings. There was a reason for my madness as I have been training for the New Zealand Speedgolf Open. This took place last weekend in New Plymouth. It was a great experience and now with the event over I am going to continue speed golfing on Sunday mornings.

I am interested in finding other members who might want to combine some golf with a bit of cardio exercise. If you are curious to give speedgolf a try, please get in touch.
