Tee times

As we get busier on the course it is getting more and more difficult to facilitate casual play, so we ask ALL players including members to make sure they have a Tee booking on DotGolf, or check in with the office before starting your round, and that you adhere to that time.

When we look at the number of rounds played year on year, we are up 80% on last comparable 12-month period, which is great for our club and we want to provide the best experience for everyone, including members and guests who expect to tee off at their booked time.

Our Green keepers also check DotGolf to see when the best times are to complete certain work on the course if they can’t see expected players this makes this very difficult.

Please help us by making sure you have a booking and stick to the time/tee.

Barfoot and Thompson 5 Course Classic & Omokoroa Open

A big thank you to our team who worked hard during the 5-course classic in the build up and running during the event. The feedback on the course has been fantastic including some who have gone out of their way to let us know it was their favourite course this week. Well done to all those involved.

A big shout out to our new mower volunteers, Jeff Beanland and Mike Berry.  A great job of grooming the course, looks great.

Another very successful 5 Course Classic event.  Big thanks to Daryl and Sue and their happy team of volunteers.  Thanks also to Barfoot & Thompson for their ongoing sponsorship.

Well done to Pink and Jonathan for another great night at Twilight, even though the heavens opened up on the last 2 holes.  Absolutely fun golf. Thanks to everyone who supported the raffles and to all the sponsors.

Twilight
Pink Leow

A very light drizzle was falling as the players set out on their round on Wednesday evening. That was OK as Metservice told us that there was no rain forecast.  By around the 4th or 5th hole the drizzle had become quite steady - but that was OK as Metservice told us that there was no rain forecast. By the 9th hole there was a heavy and steady rain - and at this stage Metservice told us there was no rain at all ! However, the rain did not dampen the spirits of the players who still managed to have a lot of fun out there.

This week the format was combined Stableford using 5 clubs only. Clearly that is more than enough clubs with some very good scoring - Brent Jenkins and Jordan Shaw both coming in with a very creditable 38 off the stick.

Winners on the night were Frank Lamborn and Bruce Baggenstos with a total of 44 points. They were followed by Ben Bell and Paul Moran with 42 points, then Tim Trickert and Des Southall with 41 points. Nearest the Pin competition was fierce with Fraser Littlejohn putting his name down for Ladies newest the pin on hole 4 - which was actually Pixie Lochhead, and Cherry Reehal trying to shut out Brent Jenkins for Mens nearest the pin on hole 17.

The season long leaderboard can be seen here.

The lucky winner for the free meal courtesy of Brittany and Anna was Rod Brown
