9 Hole Ladies
Astrid Martin

No play today for our group due to the vets tournament, however a good number of the ladies played at the new mini putt at oropi and enjoyed lunch there as well.

Robyn King played in the Omanu mixed xmas tournament on Wednesday and won the best womens gross prize with a round of 43! Well done Robyn.

And Mary Jane Leuch and Astrid Martin trid their hand at the Fairview Ted Bold memorial 18 hole tournament last Friday.

Astrid Martin won the womens division with an amazing 45 stablefords! Amazing result and one out of the bag,

Hence my quote for this week from Chi Chi Rodriguez:  "I'm playing like Tarzan, and scoring like Jane!"

Happy golfing everyone.

Astrid Martin

Silver and Bronze Champion of Champions

This event was held on Sunday, 12th November, at the Whangamata Golf Course and Anya Apanui is the new Silver Champion of Champions!  She shot a 72 to share 1st place in the gross competition with Taylor-Rose Perrett, but won the net by herself with a 69. Well done Anya!

She then combined with Martina Keir (Bronze 1) to finish 3rd in the Combined Net, and with both Martina and Dawn Rumney (Bronze 1 Runner-up) to finish 3rd in the Rosebowl. A wonderful result for Omokoroa.

This is a final plea to come along and support your club, and your ladies committee, by attending this event next Tuesday 21st November, at 6pm.

Brittany, our caterer, NEEDS 40 ladies to register for a meal to cover her costs, so PLEASE ring in to the office and commit to this NOW!  She needs to know numbers by midday Saturday 18th November.

Twilight Golf
Pink Leow

A sunny evening (albeit with a cooling breeze) was enjoyed by another full field for Twilight golf. The competition this week was “Russian Roulette” and the winners on the night were Jeff and Jamie Warren, with a total of 44 points. They were closely followed by Cliff and Robyn King on 43 points and then Brenda Arnesen and Barbara Aitken, also Brett Dingle and Brad Hale both on 42 points.

Many thanks to our very generous sponsors - PaR n.z. Golfing Holidays, Mike Deane Motors, One Staff Recruitment Agency, Bethlehem Butchery and The Clubroom.

Rachel and Stephanie were kept busy behind the bar while Brittany and Ana (with a little help from Vivian) served up 90 meals in the kitchen.

The lucky winner for a FREE meal is Kevin Bowick, courtesy of Brittany and Ana.

Well done to those players who were competing in the Vets 3 day competition and also came along to play Twilight - and took away a few of the prizes.
