Captains Corner
Daryl Muir

A big thanks to all those that supported the Kaimai Shield at Walton Golf Club on Sunday.  The weather was great and as usual the Walton course was a pleasure to play.

The competition was tough with all three teams, Omokoroa, Morrinsville and Walton all finishing within one point of each other.

Walton won the Kaimai Shield which was previously held by Morrinsville.  Next year the venue is Omokoroa so it will be an opportunity to have the shield back in our trophy cabinet.

Well done Finton.  Back to your “home” course and finding form straight away. Obviously the greens weren’t too quick for you .

Worth mentioning also John Holloway scooped the “2’s” and rolled home 19 golf balls.

Quads – Monday

The final round was held at our Course on Monday.  Windy conditions made it a tough day for all participants.  Omokoroa led the field home and which elevated us to 2nd place overall behind Tauranga. The final Team Placings are below.

Best individual scores were George Griffin with 38 points followed by Alan Nicholls and John Keats. We may have been helped at the start with a great morning tea. We either have wonderful partners or we have some members who are covert Master Chef viewers.

An excellent tournament and well organised by Ian Howells. As with all these events, a lot of work is involved behind the scenes and with able assistance from our support crew.

We have 4 players already entered but Alan Thomson has advised that the field is still open if you are interested in taking part. Contact Alan asap.

AGM – next week

This is as big as the real Election taking place but without claims of harassment, assault and coalitions. That may happen on the day but unlikely.

Any thoughts or suggestions for the incoming Committee to address- a good opportunity to raise. We would appreciate your attendance, hopefully relatively briefly, on the day.

Please find the AGM Munites from last year attached
