The format for the Jack Turner Trophy is individual stableford, mens and ladies.

The format for the Mexted Trophy is combined stableford mens and ladies drawn partners on the day.

We will draw your partner prior to tee off, you will play in different groups, and your scores will be combined when you come in.

Congratulations to Robyn King for winning the 9 hole component of the Dorothy Garland tournament played at Whakatane on Monday with a total of 19 stableford points. Now need to find a home for this camelia at our course!

Also our interclub team who got presented with their prize today for their 3rd placing in the Coppercrest Interclub event held over the year between 9 clubs.

Big thanks to Robyn King, Margaret Griffiths, Astrid Martin, Dianne Mahoney And our absentees, Mary Jane Leuch and Janet Burmester. Great effort ladies!

9 Hole Men

Another small field of 23 players were on hand to try and advance their chances of getting a place in the Top 10 for the 2023 Shootout Championship.

A combination of perfect golfing weather and greens in excellent condition enabled the posting of some very good Net scores. 

As already mentioned the competition was Net and this was the final of the six rounds to decide the Shootout contenders.

The Top 10 were selected on the basis of the aggregate scores from the best four rounds played.

Needless to say Barry won in a canter and with an overall average of 42 points, very easy to see why. Congratulations to both winners.

It was a good opportunity to also congratulate our newly appointed Club Captain Daryl Muir at our prize giving and Daryl took the opportunity to highlight pending Club competitions viz  Mexted Trophy/Jack Turner Trophy.  A good response from our Group would be appreciated so see above for details of dates, format and entries.

Other Coming Events
2nd Oct    Quads. Final round for this year’s competition which we are hosting. Last year’s was washed out so certainly hoping for better treatment from the weather gurus this time.

16th Oct      BOP Vets being hosted by Otumoetai.

Entries are all but closed for both events but contact Ian Howells or myself if you’ve had second thoughts on taking part.
