Rotary Tournament - 2nd February
We are hosting an ambrose event for the local Rotary to raise funds for their charity organisation.  Members are welcome to enter.
Attached is the flyer and registration form.

5 Course Classic
We are again part of this prestigious event at the club.  We host golfers Monday-Thursday 16-19 January, and we are looking for volunteers to help with cleaning and putting carts away.  If you can help, please let Gail or myself know.

Omokoroa Open - 14-15 January
This event is now full, and we have a waitlist in place.  152 golfers in two fields will enjoy our wonderful course.  We will need a hnadful of volunteers to help with this event as well - starting/carts/results etc.  Let me know if you are able to lend a hand.

Welcome to 2023, a very Happy new Year to all.  Lets hope it brings a more positive year, with a smile from the weather gods.

Our New Years Eve tournament ended 2022 with a flourish.  Well done to Gail and her team for another successful day.  For those who won prizes, but were absent from prizegiving, you can collect your goodies from the office.  Congratulations to all winners.  A big thank you to those who bought tickets for the raffle.

A huge thank you to the local businesses that contributed with sponsorship.  Please let them know you are from the golf club when you support them as customers.

Caitlin Maurice
It was nice to see Caitlin having a few games out at Omokoroa, during her Christmas leave from the University of Sacramento.

For those of you who don’t know her, Caitlin was a member at Omokoroa all through her junior years, and has been on a golf scholarship in the USA for the last 18 months.

She is ranked No.2 in her Sacramento team, with an average of 73.0 in 12 rounds. She opened the 2022/23 season by tying for 8th at the Couer d’Alene Classic and the Evie Odom Invitational. She shot 73-71-67-211 at the Evie Odom, to set her career 54 hole best. Her 67 from the tournament was also a single round career low.

Caitlin is flying back to the USA on the 20th of this month, and will commence studies, and golf a few days later. I will try to keep you all up to date on her progress.

2023 – Opening
Never rains but it pours and true to form we were forced to postpone our opening day on Wednesday. The planned Irish Stableford round will now be held next Wednesday  11th Jan.

Having said that about 12 players still braved the elements and headed out. Good luck to them.

Upcoming Events
Omokoroa Country Estate – 3 day Pairs - Feb 13th-15th 
Sponsorship is in place and planning proceeding. Entry forms posted and now being received.

BOP Vets
My diary date indicates initial event Feb 27th but Al Thompson will be confirming these details closer to the time

Vets Quads
Similarly this year’s event has been scheduled to commence March 6th. Again programme and details will be confirmed nearer the time.

New Years Honour List
The N. Y. Tournament another very successful achievement for Gail and her committee.  Again thank you from the many Vets who participated.

Also a noteworthy performance on the day by our high flying Howard North.  Came home in 37 I hear which confirms the theory about good racehorses who make a successful return to the track after an enforced layoff.
