Save the Date
The 2023 Omokoroa Open will be held on the weekend of 14-15 January.  The organizing committee is working hard to get things sorted and the poster will be out soon.  Many hands make light work, so if you are keen to help out, get in touch with me

Strategic Plan
Hopefully you have all seen the draft plan that was sent out earlier in the week.  We would love to hear your feedback if you have any.

Cart Policies
Many of you would have received the new cart storage agreement and motorised vehicle policy.  I consulted many other clubs, the board, and several cart users in the process of developing the policies, and I welcome any feedback.  It’s a hot topic in our club so I am trying to give everyone some clarity, but if something is confusing please come and see me.  There has already been some feedback which has meant I will need to re-word some sections to make it more clear.  The policies will be loaded onto the website soon and are subject to regular review.

Greenkeepers Revenge
This event will raise some money for Nathan and his team to do some improvements to their space in the shed.  They will set up the course with some really fun challenges… like machinery on the course, and two holes in the green, and funny tee positions.  The format is 2-person ambrose and is open to members and non-members.  Please support the greenies and enter this event – I promise it will be fun!  There is a list in the office.

9 Hole Men

Annual 9 Hole Club Tournament. - 27th October
Those of you who showed up today enjoyed a great round of golf with the 9 Hole Ladies. The weather was perfect with bright sun and virtually no wind, just the playing conditions we dream about.

A special thanks to the 9 Hole Ladies and Yvonne and Allan Hoskins in particular for putting in the mahi to make the day such a success.

The format for the day was Ambrose and teams of 4 were paired 2 Ladies and 2 Men

Each team was assigned a group handicap allowing each foursome to record a Net score for the 9 Holes. The final scores  were surprisingly close.

The winning teams were:
1st:   Kevin Bowick, Gordon Lusby, Mary-Jane Leuch, Dianne O’Brien     29.1
2nd:  Paul Cole, Bruce Baggenstos, Jackie Crossfield, Jan Swainson          29.4
3rd:   John Carmichael, Horton Schofield, Judith Eaton, Carol Holmes     30.25
4th:  Tom Hansen, Spencer Tankard, Robin Lusby, Sue Bingham              31.0
5th:  Frank Baggenstos, Dave Bennett, Colleen Blair, Robyn King           31.1
6th:  Fred Hartley, Chris Hogan, Yvonne Hoskins, Shirley Johnstone    32.0

There were a bunch of Raffle prizes thrown in for good measure.  Congratulations to the winners.

Next week, 3rd November we will play Odd Ball and with the weather improving we can hope for another good turnout.

We will be back to the usual Haggle and Raffle.
