Course Update
This week, a bit of info from Nathan around mowing schedules on the course:

We are currently mowing the greens 4 days a week and rolling 2 days a week with Sunday being a rest day. The fairways are now being mowed once a week now that the couch grass is growing faster and is out of its winter dormancy. The tees are being mown once a week but as the growth increases, we will have to mow them twice a week to keep them tidy. The rough is now being mown once a week as it is growing very fast after all the rain we have had. The bunker edges have been edged and the weeds growing in them have been sprayed with roundup to kill them off.  The cart paths have all been edged and look a lot more presentable. The creek edges are next on the list to be tidied up as they are looking a little scruffy. The poa seed that is growing in the greens has been sprayed with a seed suppressant chemical to eliminate the poa seed growth. This chemical needs to be applied twice to be effective a month apart, the next application is due in 2 weeks time. We have continued to water blast blocked drainage lines around the course with some positive results but what I have seen, tree roots are the main issue blocking the pipes. Some of the fairways have got some more weeds popping up, so we have started spraying the worst fairways for weed population with a selective herbicide to kill them off.

Annan Law Saturday Men's Club Day
This Saturday the Club is hosting the Junior Event called the Booth Shield. It was canned last year and re-scheduled at Omokoroa over this weekend. It is unfortunate that we have lost most of our tee slots, but it is a long weekend and you have Monday to get your fix.

We are halfway through the Pairs competition with Mark Middleton and Darren Tumai leading by 4 strokes.

Men's Committee
After the meeting last Saturday, I can report that the entire committee, except myself are standing again. That leaves us with finding a new Mens Club Captain. If you are able to chair a meeting, please consider joining the team, as with experienced, helpful and willing helpers it is a rewarding position.

A motion was decided at the last meeting that in future, all prize vouchers would only be honoured for two months after the date written on them.

Super Saturday
A reminder that we have our A.G.M. on the 29th October, starting at 10 a.m. There is no early start for the Haggle as we want you all to attend. No bookings can be done as we will have a Shotgun start after the meeting, and the Grand Slam contenders will be mixed in with the field. Please print off your cards and hand them in to the starters when you register for the haggle. After play we will have prizegiving, Calcutta Auction for the A-One Kitchens and Interiors Shootout Final and a Lucky Member Draw
