The Weather Gods prevailed as predicted and the Closed status of the course meant that our Stableford Cup Round 4 and Putting Trophy Round 4 competitions were postponed.

Fortunately we have managed to shoehorn these events back into the remainder of the year. We can only hope that we don’t experience any further wash outs!!  Spring is just around the corner and maybe some a more favourable weather pattern will prevail. There can’t be too much more water left in the sky???

Next Thursday 25th August the format will be Net and we have compressed all the Round 4’s of the Shootout, Net Trophy and Putting Trophy into the one day.

You’ll need to bring your best game with so much at stake! Let’s hope that the weather eases off by then.

Annan Law Saturday Men’s Club Day
We are scheduled to play the 2nd round of the Club Strokeplay Championships tomorrow. However after all the rain and with a lousy weather forecast, we have made the call to postpone the 2nd round to next Saturday. The Course is very water logged and the green keepers have been severely hampered doing their work.  If the Course is open then we will play a haggle and this will count as a shootout score.

The highlight of the 1st round was achieved by Stu Rae, who made an amazing par on the 15th. His tee shot went OB so his 3rd off the tee was on the fairway, 160 metres from the cup. No problem for Stu, who caressed the ball into the hole for a 4.

Computer Training Session
The session to process scorecards, (hosted by Tony Allport) will take place soon. We need some back up operators, so if you are competent on the keyboard, give your name to me and I will inform you when the hui will take place. Thanks to those who have already come forward.

The Week That Was
It was pretty clear on Wednesday who among us believe the weather forecasters.  A small group decided to chance the weather and guess what – none of us got a drop of rain on us during the entire round.  That was much to the disgust of John Holloway who was punishing himself on the practice fairway as he received a bit of borax as we played our last hole. Well done Geoff Gripton on a fine 38 points. 

Unfortunately, due to the low number of golfers the third round of the Sunvue Championships was yet again postponed. See below for new dates.

Vet’s Annual General Meeting
The Vets AGM is scheduled for Wednesday the 12th of October after golf.  Documents relating to the AGM will appear on notice boards and through email in the next few weeks.  I will post the nomination form for Committee members on the main notice board in the clubhouse in the next few days.  Ladies, we need your respresntation on the committee.
