Men's World
Steve Davis
So You may or may not have noticed last week that Marcus republished my newsletter from the previous week! I hope you were not too confused. Bottom line is that the course was shut again. So we are going to re book the Match play Final of the Omokoroa/ President's cup on Sat the 23rd July and keep our fingers crossed.
The "New format Senior Junior Pairs" competition has been postponed until later on in the calendar year
Despite the dates in the handbook the Stroke play competition is scheduled to start on Sat 30th July and run for four consecutive Saturdays i.e. Sat 30th July, Sat 6th Aug, Sat 13th Aug, and Sat 20th August (with the reserve day for inclement weather being Sat 27th August) However, I am not sure if one reserve day will currently be enough!!!
We regret to advise that we are now unable to reschedule any more days into our program so if the course is open for play but carts are not allowed then cart users will have to withdraw from the competition !!
The Stroke play Competition is open to all full paying members of the club.
There is no entry fee but the normal $10.00 haggle fee will be in operation for all those who want to participate in the weekly haggle.
Whilst stroke play is in progress there will be a blue tee haggle and a white tee haggle(including the longest drive on 9) Stroke play competition is split into four divisions over four weeks and all four rounds count.
With the new handicap system changing daily you will remain in the division in which you commenced the competition no matter what your index may be by rounds 2, 3 and 4.
This may limit your ability to play in both the haggle and the stroke play if your handicap goes above or below the 15.4 mark!!!
Divisions as set by BOP GOLF
Senior up to 9.4 Blue Tees
Intermediate 9.5 to 15.4 Blue Tees
Junior 15.5 to 21.4 White tees
C Grade 21.5 to 36.0
Unfortunately the shootout scores for this period do not count as the comp is split over two different tees (The computer system doesn't acknowledge the scores)
Latest post card from Hugh Clark reads
Weather is here wish Hugh were beautiful!!
(Too much Guinness I think)
We look forward to Hugh's return from the Emerald Isle on the 30th July
