Slips, Trips and Falls
If you have not heard, I had a spectacular crash earlier in the week in the kitchen with coffee cups in hand. One of which smashed onto a shelf and cut my left hand. I also have a sprained back and shoulder and my knee is in a brace. That has seen me out of the office this week, doctors orders but I will be back there Monday as I am definitely improved.

Debs Office Hours
Just so you all know when I’m working. I do not work Tuesdays going forwards and I finish early on the Friday.

Mon 8.15 – 4.45
Tues OFF (might be seen at club playing with the ladies)
Wed 8.15 – 4.45
Thur 8 - 4.30
Fri 8.15 – 2.30

Any emails for me manager@omokoragolf.co.nz

Wet Weather
It’s August and wet as August usually is. Please remember that the calls made by the green staff on course conditions are to ultimately protect the very course you all love playing. Winter is not a long season here in Omokoroa. We are very lucky.

The office do not make decisions on the course status, please be kind. We are merely messengers. We do try to get the website updated for you before 8am so those with carts know if use is possible or not.

Junior Open Tournament
This is to be held on the 14th November here at Omokoroa Golf Course.  We are looking for sponsors for the winners trophy's and sponsors for the event.  If you are interested in being a sponsor please talk to Swampy (John Marsh - Club President)

Members Guests in Bar
A reminder please that if you bring a guest into the club and they are utilising the bar they need to be signed in at the bar. This is a mandatory part of our liquor licence and include events like the Quiz night and Roast and Dance we recently had.

Green Fees Set to rise
You will notice from next week the Green fees will be going up. The new prices will be put up in the office and on the website accordingly. We have been encouraged by NZ Golf to do this and the board has accepted this advisement. Most prices will rise by $10-

Crossovers and clashes on the 10th
We have had a few crossover grumbles of late. This is predominantly happening with people heading off the first and playing their round so quickly they come round in under the standard 2 hours allowed for the 9 holes.  Or people trying to tee off the tenth with no tee-time.

Please remember if you are playing 18 holes that tee times still apply and those with a tee time for the 10th are going to be allowed to go off at their allocated time. If you have done the front 9 at a spectacular pace then remember that you may come up behind others and that does not give you the automatic right to bulldoze through anyone on the 10th tee.

10th Tee
DO NOT go off the tenth tee with out a booking or first checking with the office. The tee sheet is set up how it is for a reason and if there are no 10th tee offs available that is because there are 18hole golfers who have already been playing for 2 hours about to crossover. You do not want to be caught teeing off the 10th without a tee time. Trust me.

Leaf Blower
Thank you for all the offers of a leaf blower. Very generous and much appreciated. We are trialing one in the office that has been given to us.

Annan Law Saturday Men’s Club Day

This Saturday we play the 2nd round of the Club Strokeplay Championships. There were a lot of high scores from the first round and with so much rain in the last few days the course will still be tough this week.

Check the “my golf” website for the results from last week and you will see that the fields are still wide open. Even my 92 last week is in contention!
