On a more serious note, it has come to my attention that some of our newer bar and catering staff have been receiving indirect comments from certain members. Unfortunately, these comments have left some staff members feeling unappreciated, pressured, and stressed in their workplace.
I would like to remind everyone that our staff are valued members of the Omokoroa Golf Club team. They deserve the same respect, courtesy, and consideration that we expect to be shown to one another. If you have concerns or feedback, please use the appropriate communication channels rather than directing comments toward staff members. I sincerely appreciate those members who continue to provide constructive feedback directly to me, and I encourage you to keep doing so. Together, we can continue to make this club a great place for everyone to enjoy.
I would also like to address an issue that has been occurring on the golf course. There have been instances of players starting their round from the 10th tee without a booking, or players booked on the 1st tee deciding to start on the 10th because they do not wish to wait. If this applies to you, please stop. This behaviour creates operational issues on the course, disrupts the flow between the front and back nine, and can negatively affect the experience of players already on the course.
Please remember to check in with the office before your scheduled tee time by presenting your membership card at the terminal, whether in printed or digital form. The important thing is that a card is produced so the office can accurately track who is on-site and on the course. This process helps us manage play efficiently and ensure a better experience for all members and visitors.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge the passing of Yvonne Hoskins. On behalf of everyone at Omokoroa Golf Club, our thoughts and prayers are with Allan Hoskins and the entire Hoskins family during this difficult time.
Thank you all for your continued support of our club.
Rugby Prediction Competition
Congratulations to Paul Collins, who came closest in our recent Springboks vs All Blacks score prediction competition.
Paul's prediction of 42-25 was remarkably close to the final score of Springboks 43 - All Blacks 28, making him our deserving winner.
Well done, Paul! Please pop into the office and collect your prize of a sleeve of Pro V1 golf balls.
Thanks to everyone who entered and got behind the competition. It's always great to see a bit of friendly rivalry both on and off the course.
