Local Rules

PREFERED LIE 

A player may mark, lift, clean and place his/her golf ball, within 15 CM, on their own fairway, not nearer to the hole. Except when the Rules require or allow the player 

  • To play a ball from another place on the course, or 

  • To lift a ball and then replace it on its original spot. 

OUT OF BOUNDS 

All perimeter fences and/or white stakes defining the boundary of the course. Fence around the Clubhouse construction site. 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16.1) 

These include all buildings on the course, formed pathways and roads, ropes placed before greens, fixed post and chain fences (3rd, 4th, 6th), green keepers' ruble (left & right of 2nd fairway, right of 15th fairway), wooden structure left of the 4th bunker, fixed irrigation equipment, and sprinkler heads. Relief is taken under Rule 16.1 

Additionally, if a player’s ball lies on the general area cut to fairway length and is within 2 club lengths of a sprinkler head, which lies within their line of play, and the sprinkler head is within 2 club lengths of the putting surface then relief may be taken under Rule 16.1 

STAKED TREES 

Should a staked tree interfere with a player's stance or the area of their intended swing the tree is to be considered an immoveable obstruction and relief MUST be taken as per Rule 16.1 

ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS 

Includes areas defined by white lines, animal holes, immovable obstructions, as defined above, including dirt piles, newly laid turf, casual water, general ground under repair areas, ground under repair areas around cart paths and tree removal areas. Relief to be taken as per Rule 16.1 

NO PLAY ZONES 

NPZ’s are defined by blue stakes such as the Driving range between the 9th & 18th fairways, the environmentally sensitive waterway area between the 7th and 8th holes (red stakes with green tops), ornamental garden and other areas so defined. All areas marked by white lines and labelled G.U.R. are to be treated as NO PLAY ZONES. 

Drop zones must be used where they are present, otherwise relief must be taken as per Rule 16.1 

BALL LOST OR OUT OF BOUNDS 

For all Competition or Non-Competition rounds the option to drop on the fairway adjacent to where the ball last crossed the course boundary or was thought to finish if lost can be used. A penalty of 2 strokes applies. 

ADDITIONAL RULES 

  • Nearest point of Relief from the Driving range NO PLAY ZONE between the 9th and 18th must be taken on the hole in play. 

  • Bunker rakes are to be placed in the holder inside the bunker, or in the bunker. 

  • Golf carts are to be kept to the paths/rough whenever possible, not to be driven between bunkers & green and not to be driven or parked within 10 meters of green surrounds.
