Dear Members,

It is fantastic to be able to share some positive progress updates as we continue moving closer to the completion of our exciting clubhouse project.

New Car Park Opens Wednesday 29 July

The wait is almost over. Our brand new car park will be ready for use from Wednesday 29 July.

The concrete is now nearly fully cured, and our dedicated volunteer gardening group, The Greenfingers, led by Lynda Smith, will begin the landscaping and planting around the new facility on Monday and Tuesday next week.

A huge thank you to Lynda and her team for the time and effort they continue to invest in making our club grounds look outstanding.

Clubhouse Update

We are scheduled to receive the keys to the new clubhouse on Monday next week, which means staff and operators can begin setting up systems, fittings, furniture and equipment.

Unfortunately, we will still need to wait for the Code of Compliance before we can allow members and the public to use any of the new facilities. Until that approval is received, the status quo remains in place.

But hey, let's focus on the positives... at least you'll be able to park in the new car park!

Iwi Blessing of the New Clubhouse

We are pleased to advise that the Iwi Blessing of the new clubhouse is planned for:

Tuesday 28 July
8:30am

Members who would like to attend are warmly welcome.

Please meet in the car park area in front of the new office and golf shop space. Following the blessing, tea and coffee will be available from our marquee.

Open Championship Sweepstake

Our Omokoroa Golf Club Open Championship Sweepstake attracted 52 hopeful entrants, each backing their selections for Open glory.

What a fantastic result it was to see Ryan Fox claim the title. It just goes to show that playing fast has its benefits!

AGM 2026 Reminder

A reminder that the 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held on:

25 August 2026

As previously advised, nominations close at 5:00pm on Sunday 26 July, which is 30 days prior to the AGM.

Please ensure your nominations are submitted before the deadline.

The following elected positions are available:

• 4 Board Member positions
• 1 Club Captain
• 1 Club President

We encourage members to get involved and consider standing for one of these important governance and leadership roles.

Thank you for your continued support, patience and enthusiasm as we move through these final stages of our clubhouse development. Exciting times are ahead for Omokoroa Golf Club, and we look forward to welcoming everyone into our new facilities once the final approvals are in place.

Please note that the course toilets near the 13th tee will be temporarily closed for maintenance. Temporary toilet facilities will be installed in the area for your convenience while this work is carried out.

Course Works Update

Progress on the 5th Hole Drains
Work on the drainage project at the 5th hole is nearing completion.

Water Tank Project
The Board has approved the water tank project, so you'll soon notice increased activity down the No. 1 cart path as work gets underway.

Volunteer Working Bee – Monday, 10:00 am
Fintan is looking for volunteers to help with levelling and planting in the car park. If you're available, please bring:

• Rake
• Shovel
• Water bottle

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Willow Tree Removal
The willow trees along the road will soon be removed for health and safety reasons. Watch this space for further updates.

Course Toilets
The course toilet facilities are currently under review. This is a work in progress, and we'll keep members informed as plans develop.

Presidents Message

A big thank you to Jacqui, Dave, and our dedicated garden group for their fantastic work clearing trees and debris around the 13th pond. Great job, everyone!

Thanks also to Graeme Street for spreading and levelling the corings on the 15th fairway. Please avoid driving on this area to give the newly sown seed the best chance to germinate.

It's great to see the clubhouse project entering the home stretch. Not long to go now!

Thanks to KD, Colin, and Rob for their sterling work on the new path and posts in front of the clubhouse. Your efforts are making a real difference.

Great to see James Alexander (Below) on the mend and hitting golf balls again

Fashion Show Fundraiser

A fabulous evening of Fashion and fun with your friends. Exciting silent auctions for lovers of the game of golf and a wonderful selection of raffles. Doors open at 7pm, tables of 8 available, grazing platter and welcome drink included in your table price. Grab your group of besties and boys and come and watch some familiar faces show you an exciting range for golf wear for males and females and women's street wear. Tables selling fast. There will be gold coin donation transport home if required.
