Omokoroa Golf Club Board Report - May 2026

Dear Members,

We are pleased to share an update on the exciting progress across our club as we move toward the opening of our magnificent new clubhouse.

Building Project Update

Status: On Schedule and On Budget

Our new clubhouse project continues to exceed expectations. The clubhouse construction is slightly ahead of program and tracking within budget. Key milestones achieved include:

  • Pro shop nearly complete with second fix underway

  • Kitchen fit out progressing with vinyl flooring installed and bar joinery in final stages

  • Main hallway moving into painting phase within the next week

  • Car park construction commencing with an estimated 6–8-week timeline

The car park construction has commenced as the final piece of the development with an estimated 6–8-week timeline finishing a few weeks before the clubhouse is practically competed.

Financial Report

Year-end 31. March 2026

We can report that the Financial Statements are drafted and are with our Auditors – William Buck.  We are advised that they will have the Financial statements available for distribution to the membership by Mid-June.

In summary – subject to audit we can report the following

Statement of Financial Performance - (profit and loss)

  • Club cash profit prior to extraordinary items relating to the club house build project is in the vicinity of $290,000.

  • The club had build related costs to service debt and temporary buildings of $113,000

  • This results in a cash trading profit before depreciation and assets scrapped of approximately $175,000.

  • In addition, the club received grants, donations and the Clubhouse development fees totalling $527,000.

Statement of Financial Position – (Balance Sheet)

At Year end we had spent  $2.5m on the clubhouse , cart shed and associated projects.

We held a working capital surplus of $640k. (net available cash)

We had raised member loans and prepaid subscriptions of $2,310k.

In summary the year end results to 31.3.2026 were solid.

We tracked better than our budget and all build costs were on time and as expected.

The outlook for 2027

This is the pointy end of the project, however we have every reason to believe that the project will delivered on time and within our budget.

The total costs of the project will be in the vicinity of $4.4m .

We expect to draw our $1m ANZ loan facility in June 2026. At project end we will have debt of 2.2m to members and $1m to the ANZ.

Debt Repayment Strategy:

Debt repayments will be made from the Club's annual cash surpluses, which have been built into our budget. We are currently tracking in line with these plans. Member loans are scheduled for repayment in five years, and the Board intends to refinance some or all of this through bank funding or replacement member loans at that time. All debt will be repaid in accordance with the agreed loan terms.

Our budgets assume modest membership and subscription growth, consistent with our past trends and expected growth in golf participation.

Player Group Generosity

We are very grateful for the support of our player groups providing funds to assist with the finishing touches, furniture, entrance ways and other important items.  This helps to meet the project completion requirements and gives the player groups an important sense of ownership of the project.

Member Support is Critical:

Meeting our debt commitments depends on the ongoing support of our members. We need 800 active club advocates. This means every member playing their role—supporting the course, bar, and food offerings, and encouraging friends and guests to visit and enjoy our amazing facilities. Every dollar spent at the Club helps strengthen our financial position and supports our ability to meet these commitments.

We are committed to long term financial stability, and we remain committed to preserving the Club's culture, hospitality, and the quality of our golf experience, which remain at the heart of what we do.

Omokoroa Golf Club Logo:

The Board and management of Omokoroa Golf Club would like to sincerely thank those who put great effort and creativity into the club logo submissions. The Board has reviewed the poll results, and no single logo obtained enough votes to be an outright winner, while many members also indicated a preference to keep the status quo. Following that feedback the Board and management has decided to keep the current logo in place.
