A great first day of the Omokoroa Cup last week with 11 of the 32 matches going to the 18th hole and 2 of those matches going to extra holes. Great to have the matchplay format taking centre stage for a couple of weeks.
Next week as we will be down to 32 participants in the Omokoroa & Presidents Cup, our regular haggle and shootout qualifying will return. We still have our prizes this week for nearest the pins and longest drive, longest putt etc at no entry cost for the field.
A few reminders lads, when cleaning and placing your ball on your own mown fairway it is good practice to mark your ball before doing so. This eliminates any potential dispute with your opponent of where your ball original position was. Also the ball must be placed by hand, you cannot move the ball by dropping/kicking or rolling the ball (especially with a club!)
Another reminder is in any matchplay scenario you must not play or putt out of turn. Example is if you happen to sink your putt your opponent is quite within their rights to recall the putt and make you wait until they have played their shot and then you would have to putt again.
Please inform the office of the result of your match as soon as it is completed, this allows us to get the draw and tee times posted as fast as possible for the following week.
Good luck in all your matches this weekend, happy golfing team!
