General Managers Message
Allan Botha

Dear Members,

Our April Fools newsletter certainly created a buzz! The “fake news”, as they say these days, clearly hit the mark, and I’m pleased to report that we managed to catch a few members off guard. It was great to see the humour appreciated and the reaction it generated around the club.

As we move into the new membership year, new membership subscription invoices will be issued shortly. Please wait until you receive your invoice before making payment, as we do have a new bank account number

If you currently pay by automatic payment or instalments, please ensure these are stopped and then updated once you receive your new invoice.

If you are planning to change your membership category or wish to cancel your membership (which we sincerely hope you won’t), please advise Sandra as soon as possible at admin@omokoroagolf.co.nz

On the course, we are currently trialling a rope system near the 9th green to help direct cart traffic away from this area. Nathan and his team have installed a white rope approximately 10 metres from the green to indicate where carts should be parked. We kindly ask all golfers using carts not to cross the rope and to keep carts at least 10 metres from the green. Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we trial this improvement.

Finally, I’d like to wish everyone a very enjoyable long weekend over Good Friday and Easter Monday. I will be away from my desk next week for a short break and will return on Monday, 13 April. We’re heading north to visit friends in Kerikeri, and I’m hoping to sneak in a round at my old stomping grounds while we’re there.

Enjoy the break, travel safely if you’re heading away, and I look forward to seeing you back at the club soon.

Logo Update & Member Voting

I’m pleased to share that we’ve received a strong range of new logo designs, all of which met the agreed brief and were submitted on time. Each design brings its own unique concept while reflecting the values and identity of Omokoroa Golf Club.

The logos, along with their design concepts, are below for members to review at their leisure. Once you’ve had time to consider them, I encourage you to cast your vote via the online voting form linked here.

Please note that each member is entitled to one vote only, and all results will be independently audited. Voting closes at the end of Wednesday, 30 April. Thank you for taking the time to be part of this important decision for the future of our club.

This week we had a field of 29 players which is a great turn out for our ladies.  We had a club fun day - four clubs and a putter and a stableford haggle.  The course is looking good considering all the rain we have had, so some good scores were achieved.  Dianne Mahony came first with 20 stableford points.  Pauline Thurston was second with 19, followed by Michelle Ballard and Lyn Bird with 18.  Well done ladies.

The new clubrooms with parking on the roof - an excellent idea - well done Allan for thinking ahead and solving the parking issue.  ????

No haggle last week due to the flood. We are not doing one this Saturday due to it being Easter and greens are still recovering from coring, so enjoy you day out and have a good haggle amongst your 4.
