General Managers Message
Allan Botha

From the Desk of Allan Botha – General Manager

The festive season is always a wonderful time to reflect and appreciate what we have. Although I only joined the club recently, I truly feel as though I’ve been part of Omokoroa Golf Club for much longer! Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome and for the unexpected gifts – they were a lovely surprise.

Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be an exciting year for all of us, with anticipation building around our new Clubhouse and the opportunities it will bring. I look forward to seeing you around the club and sharing in the great times ahead.

A special congratulations goes to Nick Gray, who had an early Christmas present on December 23rd when he scored an ace on the 4th hole! Using a 7 iron from 121 meters, Nick hit a beautiful baby draw and watched the ball disappear straight into the hole. Well done, Nick – what a fantastic achievement!

Another hole in one!

Daz Dixon who on the 24th December was not having his best round  hit a 5 iron on the 6th hole,  It landed a foot from the hole and rolled in. Congratulations Daz on your 1st hole in one. What a great Xmas Present!

Presidents Message
John 'Swampy' Marsh

Seasons greetings to everyone, another year has flown by.

A busy year at best, with a number of projects planned and completed.

Our most exciting project, the clubhouse, shows great progress and is on time.

My main reason for this final newsletter is to show my gratitude and appreciation to all our members who volunteer their time and effort to run our golf days, To our sprayers, gardeners, peg men, mower drivers, concreters, log splitters, KD and Colin and anyone else I have left out. Thank you for all your sterling work throughout the year.

To all the staff that keep the well-oiled machine grinding along with remarkable success and our hard-working board.

An even bigger shoutout to all those businesses that sponsor all the events that make our golf days so much fun. Much appreciation to you all.

Welcome to Alan, our manager who has taken over the reins.

See you at the New Year’s Eve Tournament, the 5-day Classic then the Omokoroa open that kicks the new year off.

Caitlin started playing golf here as a junior with her dad and has now travelled the world playing the game we love.

Happy golfing and all the best

See you on the course.

Cheers Swampy
