Steve and Ken slammed the door shut with some great golf. Steve made a birdie 2 on the 6th, putting us dormie, and then the killer blow came on the next hole when both Steve and Ken made birdie 3s on the 7th. Needless to say, we had to buy the drinks again!
Well done, Ken and Steve – and thanks, Pete, for a great day out.
Course Etiquette Spotlight
This week’s etiquette tip is all about repairing pitch marks. Steve Bowen and Pete O’Dea mentioned that they not only repair their own ball marks but also others. I encourage all members to do the same – it improves playing surfaces and enhances the appearance of our course.
Click here to see Steve and Pete in action.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more short clips showing good etiquette around our course. Feel free to:
- Share your standout moments.
- Let me know who deserves a mention for always filling divots, repairing ball marks, or raking bunkers.
Let’s keep Omokoroa Golf Club a great place to play!
House Accounts – A Game Changer
I noticed again this week the massive difference when players use their house accounts to pay for haggle entries instead of paying over the counter. The 18-hole ladies on Tuesday and Saturday are the champions here, with most using the new system.
Here’s a link to a video showing how to do it.
Remember:
- Top up your account over the counter (when it’s quiet),
- Online through the Golf NZ app (5% DotGolf convenience fee applies), or
- Via our bank account (please reference your name and house account).
Omokoroa Golf Club Logo Review – Expressions of Interest
The Omokoroa Golf Club is currently undergoing a review process, and we’d love to involve our members. If you’re interested in participating, please submit your expression of interest by clicking Here.
- Deadline: End of December 2025
- After submissions close, we’ll invite interested parties to a Logo Review Workshop, where you can share your views and ideas.
Weekly Member Drop-In Session
In an effort to ensure accurate information is shared and to keep communication open, I will be making myself available for drop-in sessions. Looking forward to seeing you Monday 15 December in the Marquee from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
Feel free to grab a coffee and join me to discuss any issues, concerns, or ideas you may have. If I don’t have an immediate answer for you, I will make sure to follow up as soon as possible.
Your feedback and questions are always welcome—let’s keep the conversation going!
Volunteer Needed
We need a volunteer to help sell and deliver firewood. Kindly contact either myself or Colin Gee if you can assist – this will help cut down Colin’s hours so he can focus on more important things, like golf.
Thank you all for your continued support and for making Omokoroa Golf Club such a great community!
