NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

Purpose:

To approve the amended financial accounts for the 7 month period ending 31 March 2022.

Explanation:

Our constitution provides that the membership approve the annual accounts at a general meeting.

This year our AGM was brought forward and held on 30^th June, due to the changing of the financial year which now ends on 31^st March instead of 31^st August. 

The accounts for the 7 month period from 1 September 2021 to 31 March 2022 contained an inadvertent error which precluded them from being presented for approval at the AGM.

Subscription notices sent out for the 22/23 financial year and paid in March in advance of the ensuing financial year were included in the 7 month reporting period, whereas they should have been shown as subs in advance for the 22/23 financial year.  This correction has now been made, along with several other relatively minor improvements in reporting, including a tidy-up of the asset register.

The board has also now resolved to use the rateable value of the property as the book value.

A copy of the amended accounts recommended for approval will be distributed to members in advance of the meeting.
