Manager's Note
Marcus Niles
What a massive few weeks!  The Xmas/NYs period, then our Omokoroa Open, followed immediately by the 5 Course Classic!  Our volunteers and staff have done us proud to present the course wonderfully to so many visitors.  The constant stream of positive feedback has been pleasing.  Extra special recognition must go to Nathan and his staff for that amazing work they continue to do to keep our course so amazing in such challenging conditions.  We could do with some rain to take the pressure off them for sure!

The other big thank you goes to the members for being patient and accommodating over this time.  There has been a financial benefit to having visitors on our course over this period and its great to be able to welcome people from all around NZ.  Most say they will be back!

The club Opening Day is on 30 January.  This is a teams event, but you can enter individually.  The entry sheet is in the office and is filling fast!

A big thanks to the green keepers and Colin Gee for presenting the course so well. Also thanks to Zoe Baguley-Skayman for supplying the big feather flags at a very favourable cost to us. The Mens Committee have bought them and they are available for the Club to use when we have big events or occasions. To keep them in good condition I will look after them and put them up and take them down.

Thanks to the organisers ; Sharon Dobson, Ben Van Den Borst, Barry Mason and especially Mark Middleton for the huge amount of work he did.

The Week Ahead

Happy New Year one and all. This is my first contribution to the newsletter this year this year so here goes.

Next week’s Club Day is a straightforward Stableford Day. Book your tee time, turn up and tear the course apart. Starting times for Vet’s golf are unchanged, but after last weeks show of hands the Committee is considering a change to summer golf times and is in discussion with all of the parties concerned…. Including the Club, the Caterer and Green staff etc.

The Week Just Passed.

No Vet’s Golf this week. A relief for many I guess given the extreme temperatures we have had each day. It was great to see the Vet’s volunteers out and about again and helping with the 5 Course Classic. I heard a number of comments about the improvement in our course from some of the regulars for this tournament. A pat on the back for all concerned.
