Manager's Note
Marcus Niles
Welcome to 2022!  I'm sure we said it last year... but I hope this year is better than the last!
It's warm out there, so keep hydrated and use sunblock.
Practice Fairway
Growth is coming along really well with the warm weather.  Please continue to treat the area as GUR (including the truck driveway along the 18th).
You are able to hit balls into the practice fairway, but please use the mats and tread lightly when collecting balls
If you are using carts to get to and from the course you do so at your own risk, and please remember to be a courteous as possible.  We have heard the odd report of folks not giving way to pedestrians or driving a bit recklessly on footpaths.
If you do have a cart, you should be paying the cart path annual fee ($100) and have a sticker displayed on your cart.  Please see the office if you haven't got one.
Thanks to everyone for keeping each other safe by following the guidelines.
To clarify - you are able to remove flags and use bunker rakes under the current settings.
There are still a few members who have not shown their vaccine passport to the office.  Please come in and do that ASAP if you haven't already.

Happy New Year to you all. We hope you have been enjoying the holiday season.

Many thanks for supporting the New Year’s Eve Tournament. We had nearly a full field again which reflects the increasing participation of members in club activities.

Special thanks must be extended to President Swampy, who single-handedly secured all of the sponsors. We are very lucky to have so many local businesses take an interest in our club.

The next club event will be OPENING DAY on Sunday 30 January. This will be a teams tournament. You are invited to form teams of 4 and register your names and payment at the office. The cost will be $10 per player.

Please try to pay as a team to reduce traffic in and out of the office. If you are not part of a team, put your name on the sheet and someone will probably join you.

This is a fun day and there will be food available at the end of your round. Details to follow.

Date: Sunday 30th January
Time: 8.30am for 9.00 shotgun start
Format: Teams of 4. Three stableford scores will count on each hole. Play your own game and team leader will fill in the team score card.

The Splash is Back

Thank you to all the men who cleaned out the pond by the 4th green last Monday. The amount of water weed that came out was huge, but with so many helpers the job was done in an hour and a half. Great to see so many volunteers supporting Course Convenor, Colin Gee getting things done.

Omokoroa Open

We are all prepared to host another Open next weekend (15/16 January) with a full field of 134 players. We would still appreciate any items that can be included in the welcome pack such as Candy Bars, Fruit, snack bars etc. Obviously we would need 140 pieces to distribute to players.

BOP 5 Course Classic

This Event goes from 17th to 21st January and entries close on Wednesday 12th January. A number of Omokoroa members are playing already, so enter now and join the fun.

Twilight Update
Pink Leow

Happy New Year to all. I hope you have had a restful time after a hectic festive season.

Twilight will start again on Wednesday 12th January and this will run through to 9th March.
If you are finding it too hot playing in the heat, come join us at Twilight teeing off in the evening – cards in by 5pm. Another reason is that Jarrod makes a mean dinner after golf so no cooking required.

Find yourself a golf partner and register your team with me on 02108195531. For the usual suspects, I will be doing the draw next Monday with details on play format and dinner menu.
