The entry fee is $10, the same as the usual Haggle and all players get a prize. The event is heavily subsidised by the Mens Committee which is required with 34 hams on the prize table.

2022 Shootout (Sponsored by A-One Kitchens and Interiors)

The Mens Committee decided that the entry fee to enter the Shootout next year will be included as part of the $10 haggle fee. This will mean the competition to get into the final 19 will be fierce in 2022!

Couching of the Practise Fairway

Well done to the men who got stuck in and completed the couching of the practise Fairway on Monday and Tuesday. The weather played its part brilliantly with steady rain for most of Tuesday. We are lucky to have people like Kevin Donald, Colin Gee, Alan Nichols, Jonathan Lewis, Tony Parkinson, Hugh Moleta, Steve Rumney, Hap Sutherland, Gordy Wingate, Brian Currie, Swampy Marsh, Rob Mitford-Burgess and all the other volunteers improving our course.

9 Hole Ladies
Lyn Harrison

This weeks competition was ‘golf with a twist’. There were some hilarious moments as ladies had air shots, or progressed 10 cms off the tee, when driving with a putter, and difficulty finding the best way to putt with a driver.

Dianne Mahony had no trouble handling these situations as she came in with 21 stbs followed by Kay Gilbert 18, Mara Mayo 18, and Shirley Johnstone 17.

A shoutout to all the green staff and volunteers out in force lately. Thank you all for your input. It is a privilege to belong to such a beautiful well maintained golf course.

9 Hole Men
Spencer Tankard

With the competition rounds out of the way and this years Trophy Awards Ceremony out of the way the team can settle down to Golf for the sake of the game.

A good turnout of 33 made for an interesting variation on the usual Stableford format.

We played Powerplay with each player nominating 3 holes on which they could double their Stableford score.

A number of players recorded some very good Stableford scores to boost their Powerplay total.

The Haggle money went to those players in each Division who returned the highest combined Stableford scores.

Division 1:

Arnold Davis 29
Ken Hartley 28
Frank Baggenstos 28
Allan Hoskins 26
Frank Brown 26

Division 2

John Cotton 28
Chris Hogan 27
Alan Poore 27
David Bennett 26
Bruce Baggenstos 25

The Raffle was won by:

Colin Griffiths
Steve Crossfield
Allan Poore

Congratulations to the winners

Next week we play our Christmas Tournament. The format is Stableford and all entries win a Prize.

Don’t forget to bring your Santa Hats!!
