Vet's Vibes
Scott Gwynne

After a months break following the Vet's three day tournament Vet's Vibes is back. The weather has been mostly kind for Wednesday competition in the last few weeks but not entirely. I hear there was one day when only a few hardy souls turned up for the Wednesday Haggle and went out to brave the elements.

Congratulations to those players who scored well in the first round of the Sunvue Strokeplay Championship last Wednesday. There were some pretty amazing scores out there. Well done Sandra Gee, Colin Gee, Ross Milne and Larry Neilson.

Although written in advance, by the time you read this, the qualifying round of the Western Tray Match Play for both Men and Ladies will have been played. If you qualify in the top 32 then it is important that you note the dates of the subsequent rounds to ensure that you can complete your match.

It is early days in the Naked Meats Shootout but I see that Donna Dyer and Colin Gee are the early leaders, albeit narrowly. It is still not too late to enter. The competitions run through to November with a players 5 best nett scores counting toward the final qualifying result.

Dates to keep in mind are; Next Wednesday is a Mixed Pairs Stableford event and 12 April - BOP Vet's at Kawerau, 19 April - Men's Quads at Mt Maunganui,

Happy golfing folks.

The Reehals clean up.

I play in a business house competition over the summer at the Mount Club and after the round on Monday was impressed to find the winner and third places were our own Cherry and Tim Reehal. As BMW were the sponsors Cherry thought she might have won a car with her outstanding 42 points. They did come away with generous vouchers.
