Congratulations to Brett Dingle with an excellent 39 points on Saturday to come through and take out the Captains Trophy. It is great to see we had 79 golfers complete this entire event compared to 51 last year, and awesome to be having near full fields for our Saturday golf.
A wee reminder to be eligible for Trophy events at the club you must be a full playing member of the club, associate members and guests are not eligible to play in events such as club championships, Patrons & Captains trophies etc. All players and guests are of course always welcome to play in our regular Saturday Haggle (as long as they don’t win too often!)
This Saturday we are trying a different event for Kings Birthday weekend, with our 3 man Ambrose event. We have a full field for this event which is amazing. We ask that as we are close to the winter solstice we are hoping daylight does not become an issue, so if all those playing can please play ready golf and keep the field moving, that would be appreciated. Also remember that each team must use at least 6 tee shots per player, so some good strategy will be required (or not – it could be interesting to see which team has to rely on the same player to get a good shot away for the last few holes!)
The draw for the upcoming handicap matchplay has also been posted and tee times for next Saturday are in the tee sheet. You can play your match ahead of the posted tee time by mutual agreement. The match will be played at the posted tee time on saturday for each round if you cannot both agree to an earlier time. Please notify the office of the result of your match as soon as it is completed. Your handicap index for your match is to be taken on the day your match is played. Any shots which are to be given to your opponent are to be given from stroke hole one and then in descending stroke hole order. All matches are played from the white tees only.
Another kind request to please be careful when printing your cards for event qualifications. The office can help you on the day easily if you make a mistake when printing your card. It becomes much harder trying to fix errors later or remove you from an event you did not intend to enter. It is the view of the committee that entering the appropriate competition when printing your card is part of the terms and conditions of entry into any club competition or championship, as well of course completing and signing your card correctly at the end of your round. I thank you all in advance for making sure you get this correct, remember any mistakes at the time of printing can be easily fixed at the time!
Hoping you all enjoy a great long weekend and happy golfing!
