General Managers Message
Allan Botha

Dear Members and Friends,

We’re excited to share some key updates as we continue to move forward with our club’s transformation!

Build Project Update

The old clubhouse has officially been emptied earlier this week — a major milestone in our redevelopment journey. A huge thank you goes out to Jonathan Lewis and his incredible team of volunteer movers for their hard work and dedication. Your efforts are truly appreciated by the entire club community.

Temporary Facilities Update

We’re pleased to report that our temporary office is now fully operational, complete with power, water, and internet. All players are reminded to report to the office before tee-off to print scorecards and pay haggle fees.

The temporary bar is also ready to serve, and we’re hopeful that our liquor license will be approved by the weekend — fingers crossed!

The marquee setup looks fantastic and brings a vibrant, almost festival-like atmosphere to the club grounds. A special thank you to Daryl Muir for his vision and planning — this space will be perfect for hosting golf events, prize giving's, and corporate days.

Guess the Score Update

Last week’s Rugby World Cup guesses were impressively close!

  • Brian Currie guessed 33–24 to NZ
  • Bruce Connett guessed 32–23 to NZ
Both were just one point off!

Meanwhile, the Ryder Cup score was nailed by four sharp-eyed members:

Pauline Thurston, Paul Howell, Daz Dixon, and Brian Currie all correctly guessed 13–15 to the European team — well done!

This week marks the final round of Guess the Score with the Rugby Championship coming to a close.

Thank you all for your continued support and enthusiasm during this exciting time for the club. We look forward to seeing you out on the course and enjoying our new temporary setup!

Local Rule Update:

The driving range is strictly a NO PLAY ZONE. Players are to take free relief under Rule 16.1b.

The NO PLAY ZONE is marked by BLUE stakes and extends along the 18th fairway, beyond the Marquee and foodtruck.

This week is the second round of the club strokeplay championships. Please make sure you double check the rules which are in place for the strokeplay championship as there were some questions last week at the officeA print out will be available to ensure you avoid any costly penalties!

This week (weather depending) we hope to be switching to placing on own mown fairway only.

Remember we have our local rule in play where plugged ball which cannot be found. All players in the group must agree that the ball is plugged in the ground and cannot be found -  the player can take a free drop from the agreed location where the ball is suspected to be plugged. This particularly happens on the surrounds of the 4th hole, right rough on the 5hole and also on the right of the 17th green.

Please note due to the new marquee now in place we are reverting back to our local rule of the practise fairway being GUR and you MUST drop closest to the fairway you are playing. This applies to both the 9th and 18th Holes

Watch out for the different tee shots being in play for the long drive/s in this saturdays haggle competition. Also please check which tee block is in play for each nearest the pin competition.

With only 3 rounds left in shootout qualifying there is still opportunity to have a couple of great scores in the strokeplay and make your way into the top 19 for the Shootout.
