Survey Prize
Massive thanks to everyone who completed the club survey.  We had nearly 300 responses which gives us some excellent data to use for our planning.   We will share some of the results with you in the coming weeks.
For those who completed the survey we offered a $50 prize voucher.  We have done a draw under strict scrutiny, and the winner is.... Shelley Proctor.

Balls Wanted
If you have any old golf balls lying around you don't need, we'd be glad to take them off your hands for juniors and the driving range.  Donations happily recieved in the office.

Beginner Ladies Program
An awesome start to the ladies program on Sunday.  35 ladies turned up for the first week and we are expecting more for this Sunday.  Big thanks to the Hayden's, Rachel in the bar for arranging the food, as well as the volunteers who helped.  Head along to our facebook page to see some more cool photos

Takeaway Meals
Remember - Brittany has some awesome takeaway meals available.  Order by Wednesday for a Friday collection (other collection days available by arrangement).  They are only $16.50 each and they vary each week.  Orders can be made at the kitchen, or by phone or text to 027 364 8202.

New Troll Bridge Closed
The new bridge between 5th and 6th will be closed on Sunday and Monday while the team adds a bit of concrtete to the path around it.  Cart users will have to drive back to the main bridge to cross.

9 Hole Men

Fine weather at last! A bit chilly to start with but the morning warmed up quite nicely.  The competition was Stableford Cup Round 3 and Putting Trophy Round 3.  The course was in good shape but not quite good enough for the Chariot Drivers unfortunately. If this spell of good weather continues then we should all be able to enjoy our golf, chariots included!  We still managed a tidy field of 29 players all with a chance at the Trophies on offer.

The Haggle money for the top Stableford scores was split between the 1st and 2nd Divisions on count back as follows:

Division 1:
Fred Hartley                       17
Allan Hoskins                     17
Tom Hansen                       17

Division 2:
Gordon Lusby                    19
Steve Crossfield                 18
Denis Douglas                    18

Cash was also awarded to the player(s) with the lowest Putting score as follows:
David Bennett                   14
Allan Winter                       14
Tom Hansen                       14

The Raffle prizes were won by:  Bruce Baggenstos, Linley Hill, and Denis Douglas

Congratulations to all the winners.

Next week we repeat the exercise and play Stableford Cup Round 4 and Putting Trophy Round 4.  Hopefully you Charioteers can get our Carts back in action for an even bigger field!

Annan Law Saturday Men’s Club Day
The first round of the Club Strokeplay Championship will be played this Saturday. There is no entry fee, although the usual Haggle will be run. The divisions are as follows;

Seniors - handicap index up to 9.4
Intermediates - 9.5 to 15.4
Juniors - 15.5 to 21.4
C Grade - 21.5 and above.

The Seniors and Intermediates will play off the blue tees while the Juniors and C Grade will use the white tees. For the first two rounds, competitors can play in either the early or afternoon time slots, but for rounds 3 and 4 we will arrange afternoon tee times in groupings according to placings.  For the Championships, the Course Convenor will remove the plastic inserts from the cups.

Handicap Matchplay Championships
The Omokoroa Cup was finally completed last week, with Nick Gray beating Patrick Hawkins on the 18th hole. In the plate event for the Presidents Trophy, Peter Stallard beat Dave Hughes. Well done to all four finalists, who qualify to play in the Grand Slam Cup at the end of the year.

Hole-in-one Time
Congratulations to Jordan Shaw on nabbing an ace on the 6th hole last Saturday. His father Paul was playing in the foursome with him, which was cool.

Golf Carts
Please, please, please could the drivers of golf carts stay on the paths when it is wet. If you are playing with someone in a cart, then give way to them as much as possible. We don't want carts driving off the pathways to get around players with trundlers. The Club is very determined to get the whole Course fully pathed in the next year, which will allow cart use whenever the Course is open.

Computer Training
As Tony Allport will be having a hip operation soon, we are keen to educate more people to be able to process the cards after play. If you are reasonably competent on the computer and happy to have  a group session with Tony to run through procedures, then do it. Please speak to me if you are interested in being a back-up helper.
