Annan Law Saturday Men’s Club Day
The first round of the Club Strokeplay Championship will be played this Saturday. There is no entry fee, although the usual Haggle will be run. The divisions are as follows;
Seniors - handicap index up to 9.4
Intermediates - 9.5 to 15.4
Juniors - 15.5 to 21.4
C Grade - 21.5 and above.
The Seniors and Intermediates will play off the blue tees while the Juniors and C Grade will use the white tees. For the first two rounds, competitors can play in either the early or afternoon time slots, but for rounds 3 and 4 we will arrange afternoon tee times in groupings according to placings. For the Championships, the Course Convenor will remove the plastic inserts from the cups.
Handicap Matchplay Championships
The Omokoroa Cup was finally completed last week, with Nick Gray beating Patrick Hawkins on the 18th hole. In the plate event for the Presidents Trophy, Peter Stallard beat Dave Hughes. Well done to all four finalists, who qualify to play in the Grand Slam Cup at the end of the year.
Hole-in-one Time
Congratulations to Jordan Shaw on nabbing an ace on the 6th hole last Saturday. His father Paul was playing in the foursome with him, which was cool.
Golf Carts
Please, please, please could the drivers of golf carts stay on the paths when it is wet. If you are playing with someone in a cart, then give way to them as much as possible. We don't want carts driving off the pathways to get around players with trundlers. The Club is very determined to get the whole Course fully pathed in the next year, which will allow cart use whenever the Course is open.
Computer Training
As Tony Allport will be having a hip operation soon, we are keen to educate more people to be able to process the cards after play. If you are reasonably competent on the computer and happy to have a group session with Tony to run through procedures, then do it. Please speak to me if you are interested in being a back-up helper.
