Win a $50 OGC Voucher!
As part of our Strategic Planning we are conducting a survey that will tell us a bit about our stakeholder's thoughts regarding OGC.  We'd love to hear from as many members as possible.  See the bottom of this email for a link to fill it out.

Takeaway Meals
Brittany has some awesome takeaway meals available.  Order by Wednesday for a Friday collection (other collection days available by arrangement).  They are only $16.50 each and they vary each week.  Orders can be made at the kitchen, or by phone or text to 027 364 8202.  The feedback so far has been excelllent, so don't miss out!

AGM
Thanks to those who attended the AGM last week.  Attendance was good, and there was some lively conversations.  For those who weren't there, the minutes will be completed ASAP.

12th Tee Gate
At the AGM it was moved and accepted that the club will absorb the cost of the maintenance of this gate, removing the need for us to charge $30 per annum for Fobs.  Fobs are available from the office for $20 for golf members.

Golf Manager's Association Course
A couple of weeks ago I attended my first GMA course.  The course was 'Leadership Principles' and is my first step in working towards a recognised qualification.

The course was run by GMA at Remuera Golf Club and was attended ay 14 managers and staff from around the country.  It was a bit of an eye opener for me and made me realise that being a Golf Club Manager is a very complex and challenging role with many moving parts (as if I didn't know already).  There were several very experienced managers there, and it was comforting to hear we all face similar issues.  Our club has a long road to travel and a lot of work to do, but its also pretty exciting to think about what our hard work could achieve in the future.  The first step is to make a plan, then we need to execute.

New Ute
Nathan and his team took possession of a long-overdue upgrade for thier work wagon last week.  The ute is low kms and is much more suited to the work they do than the old vehicle.  The lads look pretty pleased with their new ride!  #happyteam

9 Hole Men
Spencer Tankard

A resounding victory for the Kiwi Allstars vs the Rest of the World with the Kiwi's scoring a Net of 38.4 against the ROW of 39.6.
The weather held together just long enough to get all 31 players back into the clubhouse nice and dry if not a bit muddy!!

The Haggle competition saw some very close scores at the top of the Leaderboard.  Prize money was split between players on the Front and Back 9’s and the winners on count back were:

Front 9:
Frank Lamborn                  36
Murray Wills                      36
Frank Baggenstos              36
Horton Schofield               37

Back 9:
Gordon Lusby                    35
Francis Jackson                  35
Ken Hartley                        36
Kevin Bowick                     36

With the Kiwis taking out the competition  2-0 we decided to abandon the final round of our 3 Round International Challenge in favour of keeping our regular programme track.  There were a few grumps from the ROW team.  Excellent playing by all, congratulations to the winners!

Next week we play Round 3 of our Shootout Competition and the format will be Net.

Don’t forget that Wednesday 13th is out 9 Hole Men’s Lunch at Chinatown Restaurant in Fraser Cove.  Open to all of ur 9 Hole and 18 Hole members and their partners.
Please arrive at 12:00 noon approx for a very enjoyable mid winter get together. If you haven’t already put your name down, email me or just show up!

As part of our Strategic Planning, we are keen to hear from our members and community.  So we have put together a brief survey to find out what people think of us now, and what they think we could look like in the future.

See below a link to complete the survey.  There are also paper copies in the clubhouse to complete if you prefer
