Annan Law Saturday Men’s Clubday

This week there is no Haggle as the Omokoroa Open is played over the weekend.

The last round of the Summer Cup will be held next Saturday with the leaders being; Ash Pennell, Al Nicholls, Stewart Green, James Graham and Steve Vaega.

Also next week the first qualifying round of the A-One Kitchens and Interiors Shootout will be included in the Haggle. This year there is no entry fee, with everyone who plays in Saturday Haggles being eligible.

Congratulations to Ken Holyoake on shooting a 70 at Whangamata and scoring under his age for the first time. Well done Ken! Let’s see if you can do it on our course.

Twilight Update
Pink Leow

It’s great to see everyone back on Wednesday evening for Twilight and especially pleasing to see some new members joining us. Some good scoring despite only 5 clubs in the bag.

We were fortunate to have one of our main sponsor, Ben Taylor (Bethlehem Butchery) joining us and presenting Bethlehem Butchery vouchers to the winning teams.

After an excellent combined 39 Stableford points, Brett Dingle and Brad Hale are now 1 point ahead of 2nd place on the overall leaderboard. Mike & Joanne Deane are in 2nd place and Keith Bardwell & Kerry Duggan are third. The updated Accumulative points leader board is on the Omokoroa GC website.

Business as usual next Wednesday for Twilight all the way through to 9th March. Cards in by 5pm latest for shotgun start. Find yourself a golf partner and call me on 021 08195531 to register your team.

9 Hole Men
Spencer Tankard

Just half our usual field showed up to enjoy getting out on the fairways and greens to make the most of our glorious summer weather.

The competition was Net - 4 Clubs plus Putter. We had 16 entries for a perfect split on both Front and Back 9’s.
The economical use of clubs threw up the expected range of scores from very good to not very good at all!!
The prize money went to:

Division 1:
John Carmichael                               36
Bob Duckworth                                 36

Division 2:
Kevin Crossman                                33
Trevor Smith                                      35

Limited numbers didn’t justify a Raffle.  Congratulations to the winners.

Next week we play an Away Game at Fairview Golf Course (weather permitting).
Tee-Off is 10:30am. Please be there by 9:30am to give us plenty of time to arrange the draw.
Those of you who need a cart please contact the Fairview Clubhouse and make a reservation. They have carts available.
You don’t need to book a slot on line.
