Dear Members,
You will be aware that NZ is moving to the Covid Protection Framework (Traffic Light System) as of 3rd December 2021. Our region has been designated as ORANGE and this will be reviewed fortnightly by the government.
Omokoroa Golf Club Board has carefully considered the government requirements and how they can be implemented at our club. Consideration has been given to the ‘at risk’ profile of our membership (over 70% are over the age of 60), the logistics of implementing the requirements in our facility and what other clubs in our region are putting in place. Our priority is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our members, and visitors and staff.
The decision is as follows
From Friday 3 December 2021, the Omokoroa Golf Club will be requiring all members and visitors to provide a Covid Vaccine Certificate (My Vaccine Pass) when they enter the buildings and/or course

- Information on accessing your vaccine passport can be found at My Vaccine Pass | Unite against COVID-19 (covid19.govt.nz).
- Children aged 12 and under and persons with a Ministry of Health approved vaccination exemption are deemed to hold a Vaccine passport.
- Once your Vaccine Passport has been scanned, we can ‘tag’ your membership so that staff can see that we have already seen proof of your vaccination.
- Information collected by OGC will be in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
- Delivery staff to the club will be required to stay in the carpark and operate on a contactless basis, unless they can produce a vaccine pass
Omokoroa Golf Club has just over six hundred members. The board understands that there will be members who for a range of reasons are not able to comply with the above policy. We respect their decision. If they would like to discuss how this may impact on their membership they are welcome to contact the Club Manager for options.
Please be aware that the Covid Protection Framework and Vaccination does not negate the requirement for existing important measures including – SCANNING in on the COVID APP, CORRECTLY WEARING A MASK INDOORS, ONE METRE SOCIAL DISTANCING INDOORS and OUTDOORS. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend any golf activities and have a COVID test. These requirements are in place to decrease the transmission of Covid including from vaccinated individuals who may be carrying COVID19.
Lastly, the Covid Protection Framework is new to all of us; members, volunteers and staff alike. Please be kind to each other and show understanding and respect to all. None of us ever envisaged that that we would be in this space and we all hope that we are out of it as soon as possible.
