On Wednesday, we had our 1st day of Spring and 1st day of golf after L4 Lockdown. It’s really good to see a stream of golfers out there for the past few days getting their golf fix especially with the help of fabulous weather.

Tip of the day, aim to the middle of the green or send the younger person in your bubble to check out the pin position.

If you do not work, please kindly limit your bookings on the weekend to allow workers a chance to book first.

For more details on golf guidelines for each Alert levels, you can refer to www.golf.co.nz/news-detail?newsarticleid=23479&tags=Industry

Annan Law Saturday Men’s Club Day

Well we will still be playing in our bubbles over the weekend so there is no haggle.

When the down grading of the COVID-19 lockdown level occurs we will be completing the final rounds of the Club Strokeplay Championships with all divisions teeing off the White Tees.

This will also mean all players can have a round for qualifying for the A-One Kitchens and Interiors Shootout.

This morning I saw a neighbour talking to her cat.

It was obvious she thought her cat understood her.

I came into my house, told my dog – we laughed a lot.

Alert from Board re Bubbles at Level 3

Golfing in Your Bubble at Covid Level 3

There has been some confusion for Golf Clubs as to the “bubble” definition operation at Covid Level 3.

After discussion with the BOP Regional Golf Director yesterday, NZ Golf and BOP Golf have clarified that the golf bubble must be the “family bubble”

What does this mean?

If as a couple or family you have more than one golfer in your household you may play golf together.

If you live alone, you must play golf alone, even if you have chosen to extend your bubble to include another person who is a golfer and lives alone.

If you have kept your bubble small and as a couple have joined with either a person living alone or another couple for support and there are golfers in both households, you may not play golf with the other person from that household.

There have been a number of Clubs like us who have in particular tried to accomodate those golfers living alone, however we must now revert to operating under the “family bubble” rule immediately.

As we all agree Golf at Level 3 is a contactless sport, but we were informed of a Club in the Waikato that was visited yesterday by the police and some members were fined as they were playing in a non “family” bubble.

We do not want to risk that for any of our members.

We know a number of you will be very disappointed and we feel for you.

With all current bookings, where the booking does not meet the "family bubble’ criteria, one player will be removed from the booking. If you want to change that to the other player, please change the booking accordingly.
