Covid 19 Update for Omokoroa Golf Course
Here we go again...

What you need to know...
This is an important announcement for all members:

Alert Levels As of 6 am on Sunday 28th February, Auckland will move to Alert Level 3 for a period of 7 days. The rest of New Zealand will move to Alert Level 2 for the same period.

Contact Tracing Under Alert Level 2 and 3 is extremely important to control the spread of the virus. We have extra QR scan in codes around the club and a register is back at the front door for those not using the tracing app. side doors may be closed to ensure all access through the main entry doors.

Operational Guidance At Alert Level 2 says playing of golf can be undertaken. The most important principle is to stay safe. The health, safety and wellbeing of staff, members, golf participants and the wider community is of paramount importance.

We ask that those participating in regular weekly groups now go online to register before coming to the course. The booking sheets online on our webpage have been adjusted to allow this. Either register as the group you wish to play with or find an individual spot to fill within your normal allocated time slot. Please keep your own card.
This helps us with contract tracing and stops the need for card collection and distribution.

General Guidance from Golf NZ
1. The golf course, clubhouse, pro shop, changing rooms and any other facility at the golf club can be open at Alert Level 2.
2. All staff, players, visitors must adhere to general government advice; particularly all recommended hygiene measures. Click here for further hygiene and sanitisation information.
3. For golf clubs, appropriate hygiene and sanitisation practices must be maintained throughout the facility including all common touch points and surfaces. We have ensured there are sanitising stations at all kiosks and the front door. We also ask that you be vigilent with hand washingandadd Sanitiser to your golf kit to use after touching shared golfing equipment around the course.
4. We need a system to record and retain the contact details of all staff, players and visitors in place to enable contact tracing should it be required. See earlier advise re registering for your game before you come to the course and ring the office if you need help with this.
5.Physical distancing (2 metres encouraged) betweenall staff, players and visitors should be maintained. Distancing should be maintained on the golf course and throughout all club facilities. All extra chairs have been removed in the club house to allow social distancing at tables. No more than four people at a table. We ask that only one person is at the bar or cafeteria at a time and we have marks on the floor to assist with this.
6. All indoor facilities at a club need to restrict entry to a maximum of 100 people. We will be making sure groups move through the club house to keep numbers down to this level.
7. All groups should be seated, have separation from other groups. Do not move tables around within the room. When golfers are entering/exiting the clubhouse or paying, clubs should manage these processes in line with the distancing guidelines.
8. All players should wash and dry their hands before and after play. We recommend having hand sanitiser in your bags so if you need to touch shared equipment - bunker rakes, pins, cart cleaners and the like you can sanitise after.
9. Shotgun or multiple tee starts can be held if they can be managed in a manner that does not see groups of golfers congregating.
10. Groups of golfers should maintain a minimum distance of 2 metres between themselves and other groups on the course.
11. Exchanging of physical scorecards should be avoided if possible and we encourage the use of the DotGolf score entry app.
12. Pins / flagsticks can be on the course however they should be left in the hole and should not be touched or removed by any player where possible.
13. All drinking fountains, ball washers, and shared sunscreen stations should be closed.
14. Any shared club equipment must be cleaned after each use.

Happy Golfing while you still can. Lets hope we drop back to level 1 soon.
